The Real Book - Redesign Concepts

Goals
To implement design features that would distinguish one The Real Book from another, while keeping to a concise palette, and easy to recognize branding. I wanted to complete this project after viewing the original designs for these books, while the logo itself is compelling, being able to spot the difference between the volumes, type for each different clef, and more, seemed to be a bit hard to distinguish. My design incorporated strict use of shapes, color, font, and imagery to delineate between the different options available for purchase,

My Contributions
Visual Designer: Designed the type logo for the book, chose the fonts, color palettes, and much more.
Illustrator: Drew and utilized Adobe Illustrator for the book designs.
Head of Production Designer: Followed up with local printers to ensure that printing of these would be correct with correct bleed, DPI, safe space, and more.
Tools Utilized
Adobe InDesign: Book cover designs
Adobe Illustrator: Jazz illustrations
